How to Add Custom Fields

This function is permission-based. Please reach out to your Implementation Manager or Customer Success Manager for more information. 

  • Only Field Name can be updated after creation of the field. You need to create a new custom field if you want to change anything other than the name. 
  • You can create both contact/lead and loan custom field types that are visible in the Total Expert platform. 


  1. On the left navigation, click Organization Admin > Custom Fields
  2. On the top right of the page, click Add Field
    • A pop-up box appears. 
  3. Input the following:
    • Field Name - Name to be displayed on Total Expert system. 
    • Data Type:
      • Text
      • Datetime
      • Date
      • Boolean (yes/no)
      • Number (integer)
      • Number (decimal)
    • Field Type - Choose between a contact/lead field or a loan field. 
    • If loan or account field type is chosen, Account Classification - Choose more than one.
  4. (Optional) If contact/lead field type is selected, check Show this field on the Contact and Leads Details page to make this field visible under the contact or lead detailed information. 
    • Checking Allow editing of this field on the Contact and Lead Details page gives you the ability to edit this field on the contact/lead details page in the platform.
  5. (Optional) If loan field type is selected, check Show this field on the Loan Details page to make this field visible under the loan details page. 
  6. Click Save.
